HIGHLIGHTS OF RC-KNE'S ACTIVITIES ENVISAGED FOR 2007/08
RC-KNE has envisaged various programs and activities under four of its service avenues for the new Rotary year 2007/08. The following are their highlights:
A. Club Services
1. Fund Raising Events: Dinner programs, musical concert, film show and other activities
2. Promotion of family values: picnic-fellowship/pot-a-luck and gathering with variety program
3. Initiation towards establishment of INTERACT within RC-KNE and other Rotary Clubs
4. Information and publication - a monthly bulletin
B. Community Services
1 . Blood donation to Blood Bank by RC-KNE members in participation with Rotaracts and o ther institutions
2. Programs on preparation of healthy citizens: dental health / ENT camps
3. Program on "Give Vision to Blind" - Talk by eye specialists and eye donation program
4. Support to Orphanage - Nava Bal Sansar
5. Program on water management - talk program and rain water harvesting training
6. Support to differently able people
7. Support to Differently Abled people in association with CVDS ( Conflict Victim and Disable Society Nepal)
8. Literacy Awareness Programme in Villages and Support of Lab Equipment and Computers to the High Schools of Rural Community in Nawalparasi.
C. Vocational Services
1 . Training for Rotaracts for Volunteer in Action
2. Program for women empowerment and gender equity in partnership with other institutions
3 . Program for under-privileged children [particularly girl children ]: Essay competition (involving s tudents of Nandi Ratri School, Tangal School, Durbar School) and token scholarship to 3 winners
D. International Services
1. Talk programs by diplomat / expatriate experts
2. Initiations towards establishment of sister relations with other social; charity organizations
3. Mobilization of matching fund and partn er club project construction of:
• Health Post in a needy place
• School Library in Nadi Ratri or Tangal School
• Bishal Nagar Library Extension
• Others in the field of Access to Safe Drinking Water, Health and Environment
E. Other General Activities
1. Identification of a core village to initiate comprehensive community support projects (Community Services)
2. Participation in a pro ject/programs organized by Rotary Clubs of Nepal (Community Services)
3. Organization of charity events to raise funds for community service pro jects (Community Services)
1. Expansion of membership base (Club Services)
2. Establish sub-committees for different planned activities (all four service avenues)
